Parents & Professionals

Young carers are children and young people, 25 years or under, who help to support a family member or friend who has a disability, mental illness, drug or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail.

This section of the website has been designed specifically for parents and professionals. If you have a child who is a young carer, click on for parents for information and advice. The section for professionals has details about identifying, supporting and referring a young carer. You can also learn more about young carers, organise a young carer workshop, read relevant research or order resources for your workplace.
