Support

What is ‘support’ and how can you access it? Support means to provide help or assistance to someone and, as each young carer is different, the type of support needed will vary for everyone. Some young carers may need support at home, others may need emotional support, some might like support at school, uni or work and others may enjoy some support to enable them to attend activities. Whatever you need, we will do our very best to find it for you!

Did you know…? As a young carer, you can access counselling through the National Carer Counselling Program. Find out more about counselling by clicking on the link below. The first step to accessing support is registering for the Young Carer Program, click on get supported to sign up. You can also check out the support at home section or look at some tips about how you can be supported wherever you study or work. Remember that being a young carer means looking after yourself, so check out stress less to improve your own health and wellbeing – so important! If you would like to link in with support locally, the support by region section allows you to see what’s around you. Not sure where to begin? You can call us for a chat on 1800 242 636 or click here to ask us a question.
